Jessica Dorrell, Bobby Petrino Void Prompts Arkansas Razorbacks Replacement Effort

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Could the Jessica Dorrell – Bobby Petrino wreck for the Arkansas Razorbacks be solved by Jon Gruden? As the Jessica Dorrell (photos below) scandal in the Bobby Petrino case expands, so too are hiring efforts for Petrino’s replacement. And without a blink of the eye, Jon Gruden’s name has been brought up. While Razorbacks officials haven’t spoken to Gruden, Gruden is being pushed by John Daly.

As more details about the Jessica Dorrell Bobby Petrino scandal filter to news, the focus has now turned to Petrino’s replacement. Who will be Jeff Long’s replacement for Bobby Petrino? Daly says it should be Gruden.

“Been trying to help, all is in Jeff Long’s hands” writes Daly. “If that is the route they want to go, I think that [Jon] Gruden would be the perfect fit. Razorback fans would welcome Gruden with open arms.”

Daly added “I know it’s a long shot, but I live for Arkansas”. He ended with the hashtag “#justgivehimacall”.

Has Gruden spoken to Long? Gruden tells Mark Wiedmer that “John Daly’s called me about it. But I haven’t heard from the school.” Gruden once joked “The only coaching job I could get when I was fired by the Bucs was an assistant offensive line coach at a local high school.”

But in the last year, whenever a college job has opened, Gruden’s name always gets mentioned. The same has been the case for the NFL. Last year, Gruden was a reported front runner for the 49ers gig. In December 2010, it was for the Browns. At the time, John Clayton reported that Gruden and John Fox were clear possible candidates for a potential Browns position.

A month earlier, Gruden turned down the UM reported offer that would have paid him a possible $3 million annually. Gruden at the time said he was committed to staying with his broadcast TV job. But Florida news reports said Gruden was interested in a top NFL job, if offered.

The question remains how much will Athletic Director Jeff Long pay for a Petrino replacement? Petrino’s last deal was seven years, with a roughly $3.56 million annual contract and an $18 million buyout provision.

The key for Long, however, will be not just talent, but also adhering to that infamous Section 14(f) cause. Petrino’s violation of that Section of his contract resulted in his termination.

Long told Petrino “Otherwise engaging in conduct, as solely determined by the University, which is clearly contrary to the character and responsibilities of a person occupying the position of Head Football Coach or which negatively or adversely affects the reputation of the University or UAF’s athletics programs in any way.”

Long has previously revealed to news that he must, not only rebuild the coaching staff, but also the school’s reputation. “We are now faced with the task of restoring the reputation of our institution and our athletics programs that many individuals and teams have worked hard to build over the years.”

In Petrino’s termination letter, Long told him “all of these facts, individually and collectively, are clearly contrary to character and responsibilities of the person occupying the position of the Head Football Coach – an individual who should serve as a role model and a leader for our student-athlete.” He added “Moreover, all of these facts, individually and collectively, negatively and adversely affect the reputation of the university as well as our athletics programs”.

Dorrell’s status with the university remains in question. She was put on administrative leave last week. Long has yet to update news about Dorrell’s current employment status in the wake of the Petrino scandal.

Jessica Dorrell Photos, Bobby Petrino Scandal Doesn’t Derail Arkansas Razorbacks Training

Jessica Dorrell Photos, Bobby Petrino Scandal Doesn't Derail Arkansas Razorbacks Training

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Jessica Dorrell and Bobby Petrino wreck scandal didn’t derail Arkansas Razorbacks football training this weekend. Jessica Dorrell photos continue to dominate national news as more details surface about Bobby Petrino’s wreck and affair during marriage to wife Becky Petrino. But Razorbacks football practice continued uninterrupted this weekend with the format of that practice continuing reportedly exactly as if Petrino was there.

On Friday, Razorbacks football players took to their field. They also met with local news media. Officials told news that the players are reportedly both confused and bothered about the scandal. They also have an uncertainty about the future for the program in the next few weeks.

Jeff Long was swift to fire Bobby Petrino. But Long has yet to tell news of his anticipated replacement for Petrino. Local news puts Paul Haynes, Tayer Johnson, and Tim Horton among the possible replacements. Haynes is the team’s defensive coordinator, Johnson the assistant head coach, and Horton fulfills multiple positions currently including recruiting coordinator.

Many officials tell news that their relationship with Petrino was purely professional. As a result, the extent to which the scandal erupted into a sea of personal matters – including text messages, gifts, bike rides, and other social interactions – has left many shocked.

Among them was Long. On Friday, Long’s April 10 termination letter to Petrino was released. In it, Long said that the scandal was far bigger than anyone had anticipated. Long claimed the improper conduct, which started as simply lies about a bike wreck, suddenly ballooned.

Soon an affair surfaced, one that dated back to September with thousands of messages being sent by an Arkansas-provided Petrino cellphone to Dorrell. Then there was the improper hiring by Petrino for a job with him, never disclosing her to be his alleged mistress during the process. And finally, Petrino gifted Dorrell twenty-thousand dollars with which she went out and bought a new car.

Long said the scope of the wrongdoing was simply too much. It was no longer just a bike wreck, it was volumes of details. “Your conduct and actions in this matter have generated voluminous negative media stories and opinions, within Arkansas and nationally, that have harmed the reputation of the University of Arkansas and our athletics programs.” He added “We are now faced with the task of restoring the reputation of our institution and our athletics programs that many individuals and teams have worked hard to build over the years.”

Petrino was portrayed by Long as hiding his affair down to the final moment. Long reveals to news that he found out about the affair only minutes before the public did. He said that, not until minutes before the ASP report was issued to news, did Long find out. “Despite having multiple opportunities to inform me that Ms. Dorrell, a current University employee under your direct supervision, had been a passenger on your motorcycle, you waiting until 3:12 on Thursday April 5, 2012 just minutes prior to the public release of the accident report by the Arkansas State Police to tell me.” He added “Again, you actions reflect a deliberate failure to be forthcoming about this matter”.

Long fumed that Petrino only told him details when he had to, when the public would be learning about the same. He stated that “you informed me only when you knew I would learn about it release of the [ASP] report.”

Long didn’t hold back. He said even the bike ride was improper. “In light of the fact that Ms. Dorrell was an employee in the University’s football program at the time of the accident, I believe it was highly inappropriate to take her for a motorcycle ride given your previous … relationship”. He added “You actions reflected poor judgment.”

Long understood that the matter must be handled swiftly. Long even told Petrino that he anticipated that the termination letter would probably be released publicly after Petrino got it. “Due to the compelling public interest in this matter, the University request your sent to release this correspondence to the public immediately. Please call or text me to know whether the University may release this letter to the public immediately.”

Long ultimately told Petrino that he himself was disappointed by what transpired. Long had previously given Petrino a seven year deal, worth roughly three million dollars per year with an eighteen million dollar buyout provision. “I was very excited when we completed your most recent Employment Agreement and I looked forward to a bright future.” Petrino was fired with cause, while Dorrell is currently on paid leave.

Jessica Dorrell, Bobby Petrino Wreck Scandal Prompts Buyout Waiver, Wife Devotion

Jessica Dorrell, Bobby Petrino Wreck Scandal Prompts Buyout Waiver, Wife Devotion

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – The Jessica Dorrell and Bobby Petrino wreck scandal prompted a buyout appeal waiver by Petrino, officials revealed to news today. Jessica Dorrell (photos below), a former Arkansas volleyball player hired by Bobby Petrino on March 23, was put on administrative leave Friday by the university. On Monday, the university terminated Petrino, denying his salary for this year along with his eighteen million contract buyout provision payment. But on Saturday, new documents revealed that Petrino has waived his right to appeal Arkansas’s decision about the buyout provision.

Prior to the Jessica Dorrell scandal, Bobby Petrino was set to earn $3.5 million this year from Arkansas. He additionally had an eighteen million dollar buyout provision in his contact. Petrino and Arkansas signed the contract in December of 2010, solidifying the coach’s position with the university for seven years. Petrino was set to earn as much as four million dollars per year, for seven years.

But on Monday, Arkansas fired Petrino. In doing so, Petrino would not be paid $3.5 million this year and as much as $17.5 million remaining on his contract. At the time, Arkansas told news that its determination was to fire Petrino “with cause”, denying him his buyout clause payment.

Did Petrino contest Arkansas’ ruling? No, new documents indicate. On Saturday, new Arkansas documents were released from the matter. In them, Russ Campbell, Petrino’s agent, told the University that Petrino would not appeal the buyout payment denial. Petrino through Campbell told his former boss, Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long, that he was accepting “responsibility for the events that led to the university’s decision to terminate his contract” and would not seek an appeal of the decision.

Moreover, Petrino’s statement indicated that he and his family will remain devoted to each other despite his affair. “Coach Petrino and his family wish nothing but the best for both the Razorback football program and University of Arkansas”.

Petrino’s family, and specifically Becky Petrino, have said little about the scandal that the public learned about after the wreck of April 1, 2011. That night, Becky Petrino called her husband. He told his wife, according to ASP reports issued to news, that he was involved in a bike ride and was en route to a local hospital. Sometime between Sunday and Tuesday, Petrino admitted to investigators that he had been on the bike with his alleged mistress, Jessica Dorrell.

University spokesman Steve Voorhies confirmed to news Friday that Jessica Dorrell is on paid administrative leave. She was hired by Petrino on March 23 for a salary of $55,735. But her future with the university is still uncertain.

Phone logs and Arkansas officials claim that Petrino and Dorrell had an alleged affair which began as early as September 2011. When a job opened up in Petrino’s football department, Dorrell applied for it.

In March, Petrino allegedly fast-tracked Dorrell through the hiring process. Petrino then allegedly praised her qualifications and spoke less favorably about her competition. Petrino hired Dorrell and then issued a news statement announcing her fit with his organization.

But throughout the application process, neither Dorrell nor Petrino revealed that they had an alleged affair in place as early as September the previous year. That amounted to a conflict of interest, Long claimed Monday.

After being hired by Petrino, Dorrell then received from Petrino what he called a gift. The gift was nearly half her annual salary, a check for twenty-thousand dollars drawn from his personal funds. With that money, Dorrell allegedly went out and bought a black Acura the first week of her job.

The 51 year old married father then took his new employee on a bike ride on April 1. It followed nearly four thousand three hundred text messages, three hundred phone calls, and numerous text pictures sent over six months. The two even exchanged videos via mobile devices.

On Friday, both Long’s termination letter to Petrino from April and Long’s hiring letter to Dorrell in March were released to news. Long said that Dorrell never would have been hired if Petrino had disclosed his relationship with her. Long wrote to Petrino that “(Y)ou deliberately failed to tell me that you had engaged in an extramarital affair with Ms. Dorrell over a period of several months leading up to your recommendation to hire her,” Long fumed. “If you had been forthcoming with me about the true nature of your relationship, I would not have approved the hiring.”

Long’s had told news, after the wreck scandal erupted, he wasn’t sure what he would find during his investigation. At the time, the matter appeared to be limited to Petrino’s lies about the wreck. But as Long continued to search, he found the alleged improper hiring of Dorrell, the improper hiring process, the cash gift, the Acura, and the phone logs.

Long said that there were “other concerns”. But he doesn’t provide a list of everything he found against Petrino. “Among other concerns relating to this ‘gift,’ you should have disclosed this fact to me … but you failed to do so.”

Initial text messages by Arkansas to Petrino suggested that officials were blindsided by the size of the scandal. But in the end, Long said that the contribution of Petrino to the school’s football program was hurt by his off-the-field conduct. “I recognize that you are a very talented football coach but the university may not disregard your conduct or sacrifice its integrity, reputation and principles.”

Jessica Dorrell Bought Acura During Bobby Petrino Arkansas Affair

Jessica Dorrell Got Acura During Bobby Petrino Arkansas Affair

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Jessica Dorrell bought a new Acura and Bobby Petrino got a wrecked bike during their affair. Former Arkansas volleyball player Jessica Dorrell (photos below) got Bobby Petrino’s help in being hired for a fifty-thousand dollar per year job, under him, official told news Monday. Petrino thereafter gave Jessica Dorrell a twenty-thousand dollar gift, new documents reveal moments ago. And with that money, Dorrell went out and bought herself an Acura, the first week of work.

With her new job and sizable gift thanks to Petrino, Dorrell went out and bought herself a new Acura, new documents reveal Friday. But after she went for a ride on April 1 with Petrino, the former Arkansas coach was without a job and left with a wrecked bike.

Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long released even more documents to news midday Friday. On Thursday, Bobby Petrino’s phone records were released to news. On Friday morning, Jessica Dorrell’s hiring documents were given to news. Now, midday Friday, Dorrell’s use of funds were detailed in the newly released Bobby Petrino termination letter.

A Freedom of Information Act request upon Long had asked for Petrino’s firing letter and Dorrell’s hiring letter. In the first letter, Long reveals even more details about the Petrino Dorrell affair than previously detailed by Arkansas officials.

Dorrell was hired by Bobby Petrino on March 23. In her new Petrino position, Dorrell was to paid for $55,735 a year. But Petrino is accused of fast tracking Dorrell through the hiring process. Long told news that Petrino’s hiring process was suspiciously short and that Petrino pushed for Dorrell’s selection. After Dorrell was hired on March 23, however, the former Arkansas coach wasn’t content. He gave her a twenty-thousand dollar gift.

Long’s termination letter to Petrino released midday today clams that Dorrell took that $20,000 gift from Petrino and went and bought a black Acura. Long claims that Dorrell bought the Acura in just her first week on the job.

Earlier this week, when Long fired Petrino, Long declined to comment to news about Dorrell’s status. But on Friday, Long confirmed that Dorrell is now on paid administrative leave. The announcement was confirmed by Arkansas officials early Friday.

Long in his termination letter also claims that Dorrell and Petrino had an affair and that it carried on for months. Long said the two “engaged in an extra-marital affair” for several months, prior to her March hiring. Phone records released yesterday indicate the two would repeatedly communicate via text, text photos, and phone calls starting in September 2011.

Dorrell’s alleged wedding date, however, is still set for June 2012. She is allegedly still engaged to he is engaged to Josh Morgan, a swimming coach at the university. Bobby Petrino’s wife, Becky Petrino, has yet to comment to news about the matter. It remains unclear when Becky Petrino learned of the matter. But ASP details from Monday suggested that Becky Petrino did not know her husband was on the bike ride with Dorrell until after the crash.

Dorrell has neither spoken to the news nor appeared in public since the scandal erupted. An alleged friend told news earlier this week that “Everyone has made mistakes …but not everyone has their dirty laundry shown on national television.”

Long would not detail to news if his office is still investigating the Dorrell matter. But Long’s March 20 hiring letter for Dorrell was also released to news today.

In the hiring letter, Long told Dorrell that she must comply with Arkansas “conflict of interest policies”. But Long on Tuesday said that Dorrell and Petrino breached that conflict, by not disclosing their relationship prior to her hiring. Long fumed on Tuesday that at no time during that application process did Bobby Petrino tell his school of the conflict of interest in hiring his mistress for a new position with him.

Long’s hiring letter also demanded of Dorrell “integrity” He wrote that
there are “no agreements, whether written or oral, regarding your employment other than those contained in this letter.” Dorrell also consented that she would be “held accountable for and must abide by University of Arkansas, Southeastern Conference and NCAA rules and regulations.”

Long initially put Petrino on administrative leave prior to firing him just days later. Long did not tell news today the reason for putting Dorrell on paid administrative leave.

Jessica Dorrell Arkansas Hiring Impacted Bobby Petrino Wreck Inquiry

Jessica Dorrell Arkansas Hiring Impacted Bobby Petrino Wreck Inquiry beck petrino wife

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Jessica Dorrell’s Arkansas hiring impacted the Bobby Petrino investigation, new documents reveal. When former Arkansas volleyball player Jessica Dorrell (photos below) was hired by Petrino for a $55,735 annual job, and then given an additional twenty-thousand dollar check personally by Petrino, officials had enough. The Bobby Petrino wreck investigation took a new turn today, April 13, 2012, after Jessica Dorrell hiring documents were released to news.

On Thursday, details of Jessica Dorrell’s text messages and pictures with Bobby Petrino were released to news. Jessica Dorrell’s trail of communications were revealed in phone logs. The logs came from Petrino’s official Arkansas provided cellphone. And the communications between Petrino and Dorrell dated back to September of last year.

But late last night, text messages sent by Petrino to Arkansas officials about the Jessica Dorrell sandal were subsequently filtered to news. Many of these logs, obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request, show the actual text messages sent by Petrino in the last days before his firing.

Additionally, today, Jessica Dorrell’s hiring documents were obtained by national news. Jessica Dorrell was competing against one hundred sixty applicants for the position of student-athlete development coordinator. On Monday, officials told news that Dorrell’s hiring process was suspiciously short. Moreover, they claimed that, when she applied for the job in March, she was already fully involved in a relationship with Petrino that begun in September the previous year.

Jessica Dorrell’s Arkansas interview was on March 12. Her background check was the following day. Petrino actively took the initiative to get Dorrell hired, the documents reveal to news. Dorrell came as a former Razorback Foundation assistant director for women’s athletics. Petrino at no time disclosed that Dorrell was at that point his alleged mistress. But he urged the university to hire her, stating of his alleged mistress that Dorrell “would be the best fit for the position.”

Petrino further solidified Dorrell’s hiring by claiming that other applicants were less qualified. He said the other two candidates did not have “as much experience as other candidates for this particular position.”

Dorrell passed her background check on March 20. She was offered the job that day and began work on March 23, the documents indicate to news. On March 28, Dorrell’s hiring was announced to news in a glowing press statement by Petrino. On April 1, the two crashed on his bike shortly after 6:30 pm on an Arkansans highway.

Petrino, at some time after the hiring but before the wreck, gave Dorrell twenty-thousand dollars. He claims it was a gift. But officials were irate during their investigation that Petrino didn’t disclose this payment either, calling it part of his “inappropriate relationship” with Dorrell and his conflict of interest.

After the Bobby Petrino wreck of April 1, officials began to then learn of these suspect hiring moves by Petrino. On April 4, he was put on administrative leave.

Today, new text massages from Petrino’s cellphone to Arkansas officials were released to news. These texts are between April 4 and his firing on April 11. Many of the messages were between Petrino and athletic director Jeff Long.

On April 6, officials asked Petrino again if he had told them everything about the wreck. Petrino wrote “Yes I believe he does. Is the mood to fire me or to keep me”. Assistant athletic director Chris Wyrick told Petrino that the university was likely to treat the scandal as a “mulligan”. “You have done the job and most feel like you are due a mulligan.”

Petrino continued to plead his case to Long. He wrote “I just want you to know (sic) how sorry I am that this all happened!!” Long became more urgent by the end of the week as the Petrino police report was being issued. “Bobby, we need to talk sooner. I’ll call you when I get back to town.”

To date, Long has yet to tell news if Dorrell will keep her job. Dorrell has yet to comment about the matter, not appear in public, since the scandal erupted that Thursday. Becky Petrino, Bobby Petrino’s wife, has also remained quiet. Petrino this week, in being fired for cause, was denied a $3 million annual salary and a $18 million buyout provision. The father of four, before the scandal erupted, was already trying to sell his mansion for $2.5 million. The home has been listed on the market for nearly two years.

Jessica Dorrell Arkansas Phone Records Indicate Text Photos with Bobby Petrino

Jessica Dorrell Arkansas Phone Records Indicate Text Photos with Bobby Petrino wreck wife

CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – Jessica Dorrell Arkansas phone records between her and Bobby Petrino reveal the two exchanged text message and pictures over Petrino’s official Arkansas cellphone, for months. Bobby Petrino’s official Arkansas cellphone records reveal that the two exchanged photos, text messages, and countless calls, far before the Bobby Petrino wreck. The affair began weeks before Petrino’s wife, Becky Petrino, went to pick up her injured husband in the hospital April 1, 2012. Petrino and Dorrell have yet to comment about the texts and photos. And despite erroneous reports, the Jessica Dorrell and Bobby Petrino actual text message and texted photos have not been leaked online.

Arkansas provided Bobby Petrino’s official cellphone records last night. Pursuant to a Freedom of Information Act request upon Arkansas, those records were released to news Wednesday. The actual text messages and photos shared between Petrino and his mistress Jessica Dorrell were not released. But the time stamp and frequency of the communications were announced to news.

Bobby Petrino’s wreck report was released to news on Thursday April 5. While national news sought comment from Dorrell that Thursday, she refused. But phone records show that Dorrell and Bobby Petrino were talking it up, eleven times that day alone. The two even talked for two minutes at 3:30 pm at the time the report was being released. Bobby Petrino called from his university telephone number to Jessica Dorrell’s phone number, repeatedly, as the scandal was erupting that day. But as the scandal grew Thursday evening, Petrino began to call his agent. Four calls were made with Petrino’s agent Russ Campbell amounting to ten minutes.

So when did the Bobby Petrino Jessica Dorrell affair begin? That still remains unclear. Earlier this week, Arkansas officials confirmed to news that the affair began far before the April 1 wreck and before Dorrell’s hiring on March 28.

But now, phone records show the two were in constant contact around the clock beginning in September 12, 2011. The communications occurred during the early morning hours frequently.
Petrino and Dorrell texted ninety one times on a single day in September.

Officials tell news that the two then texted eighty-four times before the Arkansas game against Vanderbilt on October 28. For the school’s game against Alabama (a game they loss) on October 17, the communications didn’t stop; the two exchanged seventy-three text messages that week. When the team beat Troy, the text messages increased; Dorrell and Petrino sent seventy texts that day alone, officials tell news.

Officials confirm to news that the Jessica Dorrell and Bobby Petrino communications span seven months, with three hundred phone calls and over four thousand text messages. The phone records released between Petrino and Dorrell, a former Razorbacks volleyball player, amounted to three hundred pages.

Petrino’s wrongdoing, according to Arkansas, began at minimum when he hired Jessica Dorrell to work for him. Officials told news that Dorrell and Petrino already had an improper relationship going on when Dorrell was hired by Petrino for a position with Petrino. The application process was shorter than usual, officials told news. And at no time during that application process did Bobby Petrino tell his school of the conflict of interest in hiring his mistress for a new position with him.

Jessica Dorrell Photo 12

The second issue with Arkansas officials was a check. Petrino issued to Dorrell a twenty-thousands dollar check recently. While the money came from Petrino funds, Arkansas officials said that Petrino never disclosed that exchange of money between the two individuals.

And the other major issue Arkansas officials had was Petrino’s misrepresentation of his wreck. Petrino and Dorrell went for a bike ride in the evening of April 1, days after Dorrell was hired by Petrino. For reasons still unknown, Petrino crashed the bike.

When Petrino and Dorrell emerged from the ditch, Petrino was badly injured and bloody. Larry Hendren saw the two and offered help, calling 911. The two declined help. Hendren claims the two got out of the crash screen in less than five minutes.

Trooper details released to news on Monday reveal that Petrino and Dorrell then switched cars at another location. During that switch, Dorrell headed on her own way, leaving Petrino in the care of a ASP officer. That officer exchanged information with Dorrell. The officer than took Petrino to a local emergency room.

But en route to the hospital, Bobby Petrino’s wife Becky Petrino called her husband. It remains unclear if she at point knew where her husband was, or what had happened. Soon she was told her husband was in a wreck, and she informed ASP that she would accept custody of the wrecked bike last used with his mistress.

Between Sunday and Tuesday, Bobby Petrino lied to Arkansas officials. He told them that he was alone on the bike. He told them he emerged from the ditch alone. He told them no one else was on the bike. Not only Dorrell’s details were fabricated by Petrino, but details about how he got out of the crash were untrue.

Arkansas, however, didn’t know that. It issued a news statement based upon Petrino’s lies that was false. It then held a news conference after Petrino was discharged in which Petrino continued to lie about what had happened.

Arkansas simply had enough. On Monday, Arkansas fired Petrino with cause, denying him his annual $3 million salary and his $18 million buyout provision. Dorrell has remained quiet through the entire scandal, never appearing in public nor releasing a statement to news. Becky Petrino has also not commented about the matter. Bobby Petrino has issued an apology to the school, its fans, and his family.
